Employer fines quadrupled for serious breaches of employee rights
28 March 2019
As an employer from the 6th April 2019 it is now more important than ever to know the employment rights in the workplace as an Employer can now be fined by an Employer Tribunal up to £20,000. This is a four fold increase from the previous fine which was limited to £5,000.
This change will be implemented as part of the Government's "Good Work Plan" proposals, which has been in the news recently.
It is therefore now more important that ever to "get it right" as an employer as the consequences of not doing so can be costly. Don't get it wrong pick up the phone and call Ian or Lucy for a initial consultation.
